Next month I will have been with my company for 2 years. This upcoming anniversary has caused me to do some serious soul searching when it comes to my job. I’m still in the entry level position, though I have gained some new skills these past years. Still, I’m wondering if I should try to branch out and get some certificates, and move forward with my career within the company. I started looking into getting an online Project Management certificate at Saint Joseph’s University.

What really attracted me to their program is not only do they list what is available, but they also talk about the projected need for that particular job, as well as projected income. I haven’t seen anything like that on other University pages. I also liked that the pages were clean, without a lot of clutter, which made it easier to navigate and get more information.

While I’m still at the entry level, it doesn’t mean I can’t work towards the goal of becoming a project manager. I think I’d be well suited for the position, and I can see myself succeeding at being a leader.

I read in a news article today that The Simpsons is headed for history making. It’s going to beat Gunsmoke as the longest running prime time TV show. Quite an accomplishment for any TV series, but for a cartoon? I think it’s awesome. While in its old age, The Simpsons have gotten more random and less funny as the show progresses, you can still count on them for a laugh. Even if they have an off episode now and then, they still rank higher in my book than the idiotic reality shows littering every major network. When there is nothing but crap on, I can always count on the realiable Simpsons for some mindless TV entertainment.

I am fed up with Primetime Television this year. It’s almost as bad as the writers strike. Where are all the new episodes of tv shows? Remember when a fall season showed all new episodes straight till the summer and the season finale-Where every week you could depend on your show to have consistantly new episodes each week? Apparently now every major network has decided to show reruns mixed in with new episodes. We can’t just trust that if an episode of The Office is old, that means all the shows from that week are old. Nope-could be that 30 Rock has a new episode right after a rerun of The Office. Talk about confusing us viewers! I guess it gives me more time to play around online loading photos into my new micro sd card and putting them on my digital photo frame, but that gets old fast. I want my mindless sitcoms to relax to after a long day at work.

This episode was heartbreaking. Normally I care more about the main characters in the show than I do the patients that come in. The pregnant woman with the stroke broke my heart. I love the actress who played her, Jennifer Westfeldt, because she was on the show Notes From the Underbelly. She’s cute and spunky, and she did such a good job with that show, that ABC canceled far too early. I was sad that they killed her, and felt so sorry for Derek when the husband screams, “you murdered her!” Ouch.

Oh, and I just have to gloat for a minute because I so CALLED IT with Izzie. Well, me and my readers. I just wish she would have opened up this episode to George instead of running around like she’s on Fenphedra. As Heather commented on my last Grey’s post, they were so close. They were best friends and now they’re just barely acquaintances. I know the writers are leading up to a dramatic episode where she’ll reveal her cancer, but I’m anxious!

Just have to say kudos to the writers, because while it’s not the Grey’s that it was the first and second seasons, it is getting back to where it was.

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I started this blog! I wonder if I should make a cake…

The first thing that attracted me to you was your smile. When I saw your picture, I thought you had the nicest smile, and you looked like you had a great sense of humor.

Turns out I was right, you have the same goofy sense of humor as me, which brings me to the second that that attracted me to you: your ability to make the most convincing monkey face.

Now that we’re together, I’m more attracted to you every day. I love that we can be goofy together, and you make me smile every day.

This one is kind of funny:

1) Who is the last person you high-fived? The boy. We high fived for being sick. We high five over weird things.

2) If you were drafted into a war, would you serve? Not happily. I don’t agree with drafts, and I for the most part, I don’t agree with war. I’m a peaceful gal.

3) Do you sleep with the tv on? Nope, it’s really bad for your REM cycle. I also don’t believe in TV in the bedroom.

4) Have you ever wheezed the juice? I don’t even know where to begin to answer that. Wheezed the what??

5) Have you ever won a spelling bee? No way. I was a horrible speller all through school. I think that’s why I hate it when I see really easy words misspelled, since I struggled for so long to learn how to spell them correctly.

Well I’m still sick, and I’m bored out of my mind. I’m at least working today, but thankfully work is slow. I don’t have much of a voice, so I don’t think I’d be any good on the phone. I’ve just been watching horrible daytime tv and surfing the net. What is up with daytime televison? 4 different channels were airing 4 different episodes of Roseanne. Couldn’t they at least show reruns of Friends or something good?
So I’ve been searching the web and daydreaming about what my dream home is going to be like. The thing I want the most is a backyard. I can’t wait till I have a nice yard that I can start gardening in. I want a lot of trees and plants in my backyard, like those beautiful Flowering Japanese Magnolia trees. Those might be a little out of budget but wouldn’t they be nice to have?

Following the theme of romance for this month’s SPTs, this week is I think it would be romantic to…

I’ve always thought it would be romantic to go on a trip together. This past week was our first trip away where it was just us, no family, no holiday, no occasion, just us going on a trip together.

Like I blogged before, we went to Seattle, and we did have a lot of fun. We were too efficient, and got to the airport really early, and then our flight was delayed, so we had fun killing time taking pictures and playing with the filters on my camera.

We had a great time finding new places to eat and drink, and just people watch.

We smooched all over town

Then when D got sick, we snuggled together and spent the day in the hotel. Even though he was sick, it was romantic spending that time just us, no schedules, no agendas, just us being lazy.
