The Sookie Stackhouse Books

I’ve recently gotten into the Sookie Stackhouse book, thanks to a good friend of mine for loaning me the books. They are such a fun read! They’re not as enthralling as the Twilight series but there is definitely something about this charming Miss Sookie Stackhouse and her sexy yet mostly dangerous vampire buddies.

I also love the realness mixed in with the mythology of the character. Here’s Sookie, who is a telepath, but she still worries about money. She’d really benefit from cheapestautoinsurance.net. I love her quirkiness and funny southern quotes.

I wondered if I could get a witch to cast a truth spell on Debbie Pelt, whom I despised because she had been cruel to Alcide, insulted me grievously, burned a hole in my favorite wrap and–oh–tried to kill me by proxy. Also, she had stupid hair.

I’m working on All Together Dead and I can’t wait to read Death in the Family. If you haven’t picked up these books, they are a great summer read. You’ll finish them before the end of August!

Registry Stalking

D and I have been doing a little registry stalking as the wedding gets closer. We realized we had too many wine glasses and not enough appliances like an electric grill and a toaster. Someone has already bought the toaster! Woot woot. I just wish we could put some more of our hobby stuff on there rather than just sheets and kitchen ware. If I could add anything I wanted, I’d add a kindle and an outdoor firepit. Maybe for Christmas…

America's Got Talent-Fun and Frustrating Show

This is the first time I’ve consecutively watched America’s Got Talent. I’ve caught glimpses of the show in the past but never watched it as the season progressed. It’s fun to watch, but also super frustrating. Sometimes I don’t get why the judges choose who they choose. Last night was the elimination round and they cut some amazing acts. Some of them were downright awful and they let them through. A couple of the acts where they do dare devil stunts that made my skin crawl like I had eczema.

I really think that the acts where people sing should stick to American Idol. I’m so tired of singing-I feel like tons of people can sing or play an instrument. The ones that wow me are the ones with crazy talents. Like the amazing juggler who juggled a CHAINSAW. That guy was cool.

I will say I did love Michael Grimm-he’s just plain sexy and a great singer, even though I don’t want to see him win. I am just ready for someone other than a singer to win one of these shows. I do want to see him get famous though!

How Come Marriage=Babies?

Why is it that whenever someone gets married, the first thing people ask is, so when are you having babies? Just because I’m getting married soon I should invest in prenatal vitamins and start planning out the nursery? Don’t get me wrong. I love kids, and I am excited to have my own someday. But I want to enjoy my honeymoon first and some time with my husband. On the other hand, there are also those out there who want to tell us when we should have kids, and to wait a long time, ecetera. My feelings? It’s our business when/if we’re going to have kids. We may adopt. I know there would be a lot of opinions on that one too. So I say, BUTT OUT! I know I’ll try to do the same for my friends who get married in the future. :-)

How I Met Your Mother Reruns Keep Em Coming

Summer programming has been kind of bleck lately. Luckily they are playing a lot of How I Met Your Mother reruns on CBS to keep me happy. I love Barney with his blac label clothing obsession, Robin for her awkward Canadianisms, Marshal and Lily for being such an adorable couple, and of course the hopeless, hapless romantic Ted. I can’t wait for next season. Maybe we’ll finally get a glimpse at the mother!

Working Out On Carpeted Floors

I’ve been working out in our living room which has its good and bad points. The good points are the floor is soft enough to do my crunches and pushups without hurting my wrists. The bad point is that I can’t slide or pivot easily when doing kicks. It’s causing my knee joints to hurt a little bit. Maybe I need to get some joint supplements to help strengthen them. Even with the carpeted floors I have to say working out at home is great. I don’t have the lame excuse of not having the time to go to the gym. Hopefully at our next place we’ll have a room we can dedicate to a home gym.

Baci-Restaurant Review

Last night D and I joined our friends in downtown Healdsburg to check out the new Italian restaurant Baci Cafe & Wine Bar. Right when we walked in the aromas of delicious food wafted over us. I liked the atmosphere of the place. It was quiet enough to hear each other speak, even though the restaurant was crowded.
D and I ordered two pizzas from their brick oven that we could see from our table. They were really tasty. Our friends practically licked their plates clean.
Since it’s a new establishment, the service wasn’t perfect. I would say the servers were a little over eager with the water. Also our entrees took a long time to come out. Luckily our appetizers were quick so we weren’t starving. We also had wine and good company and were in no hurry. I would definitely go back.
My only real complaint is that we stayed out way too late and now I’m incredibly tired at work. I guess I should click here for some eye cream so I can get rid of these puffy eyes. Next time we’ll go out on a Friday!
