Been Nice

Guest post by Gerard Mcdaniel

It’s nice having so many http://www.direc4u.com/ channels because kids were always fighting about what to watch. Now we’ve got some stuff that’s sort of in the middle and they both really love animal shows so they usually settle on that. I don’t know when kids started watching as much TV as they do but you know, I guess it’s not the worst thing in the world for them to learn about animals while they’re resting and allowing me to get laundry done and whatnot. I can’t believe when I was a kid my mom would just let me outside in the neighborhood for hours at a time not knowing where I was but you know, times were different back then and I feel like you could trust your kids more. Anyway, I love my kids but they need to learn to agree on something other than animal shows. If they don’t I’m going to strangle both of them before they’re old enough to go off to college, mark my words on it!

How I Met Your Mother-Drunk Train

Wow, talk about taking us for some twists and turns in this episode. First the Kevin proposal. I did not see that coming. I thought he was going to ask her to move in with him. Then when she said yes, I was floored. Ultimately I think their break up was for the best. But that moment when Ted tells her he loves her? No no no. I know at some point they had to talk about their relationship, and how it was standing in the way of Ted’s meeting “The One”. But they can’t go back down that road again. They just don’t work as a couple.

As for Barney and Quinn putting him in his place? I liked it. I am ready to see Barney’s story develop. We know he’s going to end up at the altar, and the writers need to show him getting there. I am still convinced Robin is going to be the one for him. Maybe he wasn’t going to head to Quinn’s after all. Maybe deep down he knows that Robin is the one for him. They’be been dancing around each other for a long time now, and it’s about time they get back together. I just hope we don’t have to wait too long to see it.

I liked Marshall and Lily’s score storyline and the laughs it brought to lighten the mood. My hubs actually wants a scoreboard above our bed now, ha! I can’t wait for the next episode!

Wish List-The Cradle List

I’ve got a pretty big wish list of items we’d like to get for our house before our little one gets here. I think a big priority for me is getting a garmin zumo gps. I’m always getting lost and it’d be nice to always know where I’m going. They’re also so handy on trips when I need to find a gas station or a restaurant nearby. Hopefully we can get one in the next few months.

How to Train Your Dragon-DVD Review

I absolutely LOVED this movie. It was so adorable. Hiccup and his dragon buddy Toothless. We took a break from me perusing thousands of online websites, looking for discount furniture stores in los angeles that might have a cute baby crib for our little one, when the Hubs suggested we watch the movie. It’s definitely in my top ten favorite animated movies. Dreamworks never disappoints. Great animation, sweet storyline, and just plain funny. I love how the dragon had the same mannerisms of a kitty. We laughed, we awed, and yes, I even shed a tear. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you rent it!

All About Steve

I caught this movie on late night tv. Despite the bad reviews I thought it was a charming story. It definitely wasn’t my favorite Sandra Bullock movie but it was still really cute. I liked her character Mary, who talks too much and knows random facts and has an extensive vocabulary. I’m not a big fan of Bradley Cooper, or his character Steve. He always comes across as such a creep, and this movie was no exception. I guess some people find him hot, but I am not one of those people. I love that in the end, she doesn’t get the guy, but she gains a lot of friends instead. Her wise departing words? “If you love someone, set him free; if you have to stalk him, he probably wasn’t yours to begin with.” So true Mary. So true.

Mini Shopaholic Book Review

Why do I continue to read these books? I like Sophie Kinsella but her Shopaholic character is the most annoying, selfish, self centered character I’ve ever read! Yet I keep reading the stories because I think they will get better. I spent half the time skimming the book trying to get to the end. There were some sweet moments, but overall I just kept thinking to myself that Becky is an idiot, and even though she’s a mom now she still hasn’t grown up in the slightest. I think it’s time I get a new easy read series.
