Grey’s Anatomy-Going Going Gone

I keep watching Grey’s in the hopes that it will recapture some of the spark from Seasons 1 & 2. I don’t know why I keep setting myself up for disappointment. At least it’s a show to fill some of my afternoon while doing online surveys. Otherwise I wouldn’t tune in.

In this episode, it’s months after the plane crash, and there are lots of unanswered questions. Sloan is dying, and for some reason I just didn’t care that much. Normally the death of one of the characters would make me sad, but this didn’t. I guess I wasn’t that attached to his character. I do feel sorry for Callie, having no one to stand by her. The whole episode they hint that Arizona is gone, but in the last few minutes of the show, we see that she’s alive, but deeply depressed over the loss of her legs.

Cristina is off in Minnesota and not fitting in with the happy go lucky staff. She talks with Meredith on facetime, which is sort of cute but also annoying, much like their friendship. Alex is staying, after he kept saying he would leave (big surprise, not!) and Bailey is now happy and earned an unflattering nickname. She’s no longer to be feared, those shoes were filled by Grey.

The most annoying thing about this episode? Bringing back Whiney Doc April. Seriously Hunt? WHY? Why do the writers keep bringing her back? Does she really rate high on the likeability scale? Because I really don’t get it.

I’m looking forward to the next episode, where it will explain what happened after the crash. Honestly, I wish they’d have just done that with this episode. It would have made for a more powerful premiere.
