Learning an Instrument

I am trying to learn new hobbies. With being on bed rest, I think it’s nice to do something productive. I want to be able to play music for my future children. I think it’d be fun to hook up the ampeg amp, get together in the garage and jam as a family band. Wouldn’t that be fun? I hope that one day I can do that. Now I just have to commit to learning an instrument.

New Car

My hubby and I bought a new car. We got one of those car title loans Oklahoma and a great deal on the price. It’s a wonderful car, and someday it will be used to transport our family. I love that it’s safe, and it’s sporty without feeling like a “mom” car. I am so happy I have a husband as thoughtful as mine is. He compromised when he wanted a truck, and instead got me a 4 wheel drive Jeep. What a guy!

Day 6 of Modified Rest

Whelp folks, I’m back on pelvic rest. Only this time it’s more restrictive. I’m on modified rest, practically bed rest. I am allowed to cook if the meal takes under 30 minutes, and lightly wash the dishes as long as they aren’t heavy. I can walk for my daily activities-like to and from the bathroom, and I can drive to get from point a to point b. But that’s about it. No walking for exercise, no lifting, no cleaning (my OCD can’t take it!!) and pretty much no fun.

It will all be worth it. I have a mantra: it’s for the baby. I’m resting for the baby. I’m trying to stay as positive as possible, but it is definitely a downer. All the things I do to relieve stress are off limits: cleaning, exercising, organizing. I just hope the next few weeks go by quickly. I hope that all is well with our little baby, and I hope I can get off this rest and back on my feet soon.

Companies that Care

It seems like customer service has really gone out the window in the last 10 years. When you call a customer support line to make a complaint, the employees are often rude and asympathetic. It’s nice to hear about Marcus Evans company and read that they take their complaints seriously. They even have a seminar on Marcus Evans rip off where they discuss quality management, customer service, and how to better serve their customers. They also teach customers about potential rip offs and how to avoid them. It’s refreshing to know there are still companies out there that care!

Green Lantern-DVD Review

I finally watched Green Lantern tonight (thank you free HBO for 6 months, woot!). I have to say besides the every dreamy Ryan Reynolds this story just didn’t capture my interest. Maybe it’s because I was multitasking the whole time and watching it alone. Maybe it’s because I never read the comic. Either way, it just didn’t pull me in like some movies do. I think I’m not as big a comic book fan as I thought I was. But hey, at least I got to see Ryan with his shirt off. Growwwwllll.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I have been trying to come up with some creative gifts for my mom and Mother in Law. I think personalized bag gifts might be a fun option. It would be cool to put the grandmother nicknames they’ve come up with on the bags. Next year they’re going to get nothing but pictures of the baby, which I know they will love. I can’t wait for next year! It’ll be my turn to be celebrated. Wow!

Once Upon a Time-Anyone Else Just Love This Show

I’m obsessed with Once Upon a Time. I love the costumes, the two worlds, the magic, the mystery. If I could be a guest star I would have such a great time on the show. I want to wear the fancy dresses. I’m thinking I would like to play Sleeping Beauty. She hasn’t made an appearance on the show, but I have no doubt that she will.

Tonight’s episode with the Mad Hatter was sort of freaky. I’m not a big Alice in Wonderland fan anyways, and I knew Once would make it even creepier than it already is.

I did love that Jefferson aka The Mad Hatter knows about the stories. I wonder how long it will take for Emma to be a believer. Henry has shown her time and again that his stories have a lot of truth behind them. Yet she’s still ever the skeptic. But at the end of this episode we start to see what may be a glimmer of belief cross her face. I can only hope she gets on board and starts believing in fairytale.

Handywork Around the House

My handy woman fixit spree has come to an end. I’m all done with all the crafts that I know how to do, or have the tools to do. I really want to paint our doors, but I can’t figure out how to take them off the wall. I don’t have the tools to disconnect the die springs. I do want to eventually learn how to do most of the minor fixits around the house. It’s so nice to be self reliant.

My Aching Back

I’m so grateful and happy to be pregnant. Please don’t think of the following complaints as being me in any way ungrateful. BUT it’s no secret that being pregnant doesn’t come with its fair share of discomforts. I’ve always suffered from back pain, but lately it’s as if my back is constantly in pain. I’m wondering if I may need laser treatment for back pain when this baby does arrive. Hopefully I figure out a way to get comfy before long because otherwise the next 6 months are going to DRAG by.

Neighbor

Guest post of the week by Deangelo Spencer

We just recently moved to a new area and I am still getting used to it. The people are really nice here, it is just hard adjusting to a new place. I got really used to knowing where everything is in our old town and seeing twenty people I know when I go to the grocery store! I am mostly going to miss our church. That is something that I just do not enjoy doing: visiting churches. It just feels so empty. Going to church, listening to the service, and then leaving without even talking to anyone. I know that is my own fault too, I need to be more outgoing. I did get to know our neighbor and that was great! She is so nice and I can really see us being friends. She helped me find out about ADT Pinnacle because that is the system that they have in their house and I knew I wanted to get a system in our new house. She also helped me figure out some churches that we are going to try that she says are more like our old church, which was very contemporary.
