Boob Tube Babble-So Many Good Shows

Boob Tube Babble
I’m having trouble doing a write up of all the shows I watch. It’s kind of sad just how much tv I watch in a given week. Well, that’s what happens when your job is to freelance write/take paid surveys/be a domestic goddess. So some shows I watch in the background while others I’m riveted to from start to finish. I swear I do go outside at least once a day! 😉

That said this is what I watched this week:

How I Met Your Mother: Drumroll please! Oh Victoria, she is so sweet. I am so glad that the writers didn’t have Ted and Victoria get back together. As much as I love her, we know she’s not the mother, so it’s time move on. The little bomb dropped at the end about how the friendship with Robin wasn’t working was pretty big. We know that in the first episode

Ellen: The most adorable of actresses, Jennifer Garner, was a guest this week. I just love her!

Parenthood: I feel so bad for Julia and their adoption woes. So sad. Haddie needs to end her relationship. He’s a great guy but it’s just way way too adult for her. According to previews, it looks like he feels the same way.

Modern Family: Laugh out loud episode, especially with Cam and Mitchell. Did anyone else see that flip out scene of Mitchell coming? I know I didn’t! I love how much Jay loves that little dog, especially since he said he didn’t want it.

The Middle: Poor poor awkward Sue Heck. Like Axl says, she’s such a dork optimist! Love it. But ugh, the Heck house makes my OCD skin crawl. I just want to come over there and clean it. Do people really live like that?!

Happy Endings: Year of Penny! How much do you love Penny’s apartment? Isn’t it amahzing? Lol! Great episode, funny as per usual.

Parks & Recreation: Oh John Ralfio. I love his appearances, he’s such a random, douchy bag of awesome. His and Tom’s company is going to tank so fast! I loved the bag of crazy that was the Tammy circle in Ron’s life.

Community: Britta has gotten so gross! Wasn’t she the sex symbol of the show before? I loved her scenes with Chang though. Cracked up. I need more Abed in my life, let’s get an episode where it’s focused on him and his awkwardness shall we?

Grey’s Anatomy: Seriously? Why must this show go back and forth with the stupid relationships. There are outside forces that can cause drama. It doesn’t always have to be will they or won’t they get back together. Stupid MerDer. Why do I keep watching this show? The first two seasons were SO.MUCH.BETTER. I miss Izzie and George!

The Vampire Diaries: Stephan has another ex love besides Katherine? Ooooohhh. I’m entrigued. Does this mean the way has been cleared for Elena and Damon to finally be together? Make it happen people! Also, how cute was Tyler rescuing poor Caroline. I have really grown to love her character and I was glad she was saved by the hunky werewolf.

The Secret Circle: Deranged psychos chasing down the witches? Eek! It was a pretty cool episode. I liked it better than last week’s. I don’t get why the group can’t use their powers at least slightly when they’re alone. Seems kind of lame, and dangerous! I wonder how long it will take Cassie to tell everyone that she found a book as well.

Revenge: Started tuning into this show. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Right now it’s just something to watch on the ipad while I’m cooking dinner. I don’t think I like it that much. Anyone else catch it?

Boob Tube Babble-Yelling at My TV

Boob Tube Babble
This week I seemed to do a lot of yelling at the tv. Do you ever do that when you’re watching a tv show? You just get so frustrated with the characters and you feel the need to tell them? No, I’m the only crazy person? Liars.

Anywaysss, here’s the rundown of what I watched this week:

1. The Secret Life of the American Teenager– I want to slap Adrian right in her overmakeuped face. UGH. She gets it in her truly screwed up head that she’s going to get Ricky back. While I’m happy for Ben that it’s over, how dare she just decide that she’s going to take Ricky back when he’s in a serious relationship with the mother of his baby? Why can’t Amy and Ricky just be happy? This show is just an awful train wreck that I can’t look away from. I’m a little relieved that next week is the season finale.

2. The Nine Lives of Chloe King-Chloe’s love life hangs in the balance. At least that is what the promo said. What kills me about this episode is how she’s toying with Alek’s emotions. She makes out with him, yet she still spends time with Brian and is giving him puppy dog eyes. Not cool Chloe. Also, what the heck was up with Brian punching Alek in the face? I did not see that one coming. I’m not a huge Brian fan anymore. Huge huge Alek fan though. That boy be fine. Come on, guy with accent wins over whiney guy with daddy issues any day.

3. Ellen-Monday’s repeat episode was awesome. They gave a family that really needed another car a car. I may have blubbered like a baby about it. The wife was just so genuinely excited and couldn’t have deserved it more. They also gave her $10,000. WOW. I love generous celebs and I especially love Ellen.

4. Switched at Birth-I’ve been catching up on the season and I just finished the finale. I’m a latecomer but I’m so glad I decided to watch. It’s a crazy premise but I looked it up and it’s actually based on a true story. How freaky is that? The idea that you would raise a child that wasn’t yours and not know it? I was floored by Regina’s confession about knowing about the switch for 12 years, but at the same time, what latina who was with an Italian man wouldn’t question why she had a REDHEAD with blue eyes?! I guess with Bay it’s more believable since at least her dad has brown hair, but with Daphne there is just no way. I’m not sure I trust Bay’s real dad, he seems like he has ulterior motives, but hopefully not.

As for Daphne telling Bay she’s not giving up on Emmett, as mean as it seemed, I guess I can understand. But I think ultimately they’re too good of friends and they really won’t work as a couple. The part in the finale where Emmett uses his voice to tell Bay, “I just want you” I totally cried. This is a great show with talented actors and great storylines. I really hope it stays strong and doesn’t go by way of Secret Life and get all ridiculous and cheesy.

Oh and I started out as not a fan of Bay’s at all, but I’m becoming more of one now. She’s a lot less spoiled and bratty than she was originally. Now Daphne is getting a bit bratty, but that’s just sisters right? I’m interested to see the characters develop more next season.

Boob Tube Babble-House Hunter Hoping

Boob Tube Babble
It was a slow tv watching week for me. We went house hunting on Tuesday (YAY!) and so I’ve been spending most of my time watching the mls sites and not much time watching tv. Here’s what I did catch:

1. The Secret Life of the American Teenager: This week’s episode was just meh. I couldn’t really get into the storylines at all. Good for Ricky’s mom for going back to AA, but honestly I could care less about her character. Ben manages to resist Adrian’s “charms”. Let’s face it, Ben has never been very attracted to Adrian and only got with her to make Amy jealous, so I’m not surprised there. Nothing else really stood out to me, but I’m intrigued by next week’s episode preview. Ricky better not be all lame and leave. Can those two just get along please?

2. House Hunters International-They had a family that had a million dollar budget for their vacation home. I would give anything for a budget like that for one home let alone a vacation home! They ended up with a drool worthy home in Panama. I wonder if we watch House Hunters long enough, if somehow we’ll be able to magically afford that beautiful Table Rock real estate.

3. Ellen (Rerun)-I really loved the rerun Wednesday about twits & Ask. It’s clever, it’s almost dirty sounding. I love it. Favorite quote of the episode? “You might be a lesbian if you kissed George Clooney and you don’t remember it!” Oh Ellen you crack me up!
On Thursday Ellen had one of my favorite How I Met Your Mother stars, Alyson Hannigan who plays Lily, on the show. Any show that has any HIMYM characters on it makes me automatically love it.

4. Nine Lives of Chloe King-We left off with Chloe kissing Alex (yay!). This week Brian is pissed after spotting Chloe kissing Alex and Alex is pissed that Chloe still has feelings for Brian. Oh teenage love. Chloe needs to tell her Mom about the fact that she’s not human. It’s driving me crazy!
