The premise is about Cassie, played by Jennifer Aniston, a woman in her late 30s who has decided to become artificially inseminated. Her best friend Wally, played by Bateman completely disagrees with her decision. He tries to convince her not to do it, but she ignores his advice. She throws a ridiculous party for her insemination. In a weird twist of fate, Bateman gets drunk and switches the specimen with his own and blacks out and forgets he did it.
When Cassie learns she’s pregnant she moves away to be near her family. She loses touch with Wally but 7 years later she moves back and they reconnect. Now in this movie you absolutely have to ignore Jennifer Aniston’s character Cassie’s thick headedness. The fact that she doesn’t notice that her son is exactly like her best friend is a bit far fetched. Besides that though, the movie is so moving. You see Wally get to know his son Sebastian and realize that the boy is his. Watching Wally go through all of this growth and become attached to his son is so sweet. I won’t spoil it for anyone who wants to rent it, but I will say that it has a happy ending, yay! I was worried because sometimes movies throw a curveball and they end sadly. This one does not disappoint.

I finally had some downtime at work and I was checking out new movies that are out. I really want to see Jennifer Aniston’s new movie, Love Happens. I swear that woman must use the best wrinkle cream because she still looks like she’s in her 30s. How does she do it? Anyways, I’m thinking this is one for video, because it looks pretty sad. I hate watching sad movies on the big screen. I wind up crying into my popcorn like a sucker, and come out of the movie looking like I just got dumped! So I’ll save this one for a girl’s night in. What do you guys think? Does Jenn’s new movie look interesting? Are there other new releases you’re looking forward to watching?

I read this book about 4 or 5 years ago, and I didn’t think the movie would do it justice. I figured it would be loosely based on the book, but because it starred Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson it would be more slapstick than anything with real substance. I like both those actors, so I figured why not Netflix it? I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the movie in a lot of parts very true to the book, but the actors pulled off the subtle deep moments of the film. My only complaint was that the movie was a little long, but in order to stick with the book, it had to be.

I love the plot: basically just a story about a family and their wacky dog. In parts you get mad at Marley because he’s so wild and misbehaved, but mostly you love him. Of course there are sad moments, and by the end of the movie both my boyfriend and I were in tears. It’s a great movie for dog lovers, and if you have a dog, it will make you give him an extra pat, or maybe throw his favorite ball a little more often. I know it sure made me appreciate mine, if only for the fact that when I leave the house, I know he won’t rip my couch apart like Marley!
