Veronica Mars-TV on DVD review

Absolutely awesome show. I can’t believe I’d never heard of it before. The storylines are interesting, the actors can actually deliver their lines, and the main character Veronica Mars, played by Kristen Bell, is downright adorable.
My inner turmoil is that I get attached to each of Veronica’s boy toys. First the oh so hottie mc hot sheriff deputy. Then there was Logan, who I used to hate but then he grew on me. Sad that they broke up. Now she’s with Duncan again, and while he’s cute and all of that, I still vote for Sheriff McHot stuff. I’m still working my way through Season 2 and so far I haven’ tseen Sheriff McHottie, so maybe the actor left the show.
Why on earth was this show canceled? The CW really knows how to spit out the great shows and Im grateful Netflix has the series on instant play.

I love that it’s not just another teen show about relationships and what the best acne treatment should be. It’s a show with real substance. So of course it was canceled. :-(

Veronica Mars-Series Premiere

I just started watching Veronica Mars thanks to a handy little Netflix suggestion that I try it out. So far it’s pretty good. I feel sorry for Veronica because she’s a social pariah who lost her boyfriend and her best friend was murdered. She’s funky and she’s good at solving crimes.
It only lasted three seasons so I’m skeptical. Then again-Pushing Daisies, also about detectives, only lasted 2 seasons and it was amazing. So this may be one of those kind of shows.

Jason and the Argonauts-DVD Review

I watched this movie forever ago, when I was a little kid. Last night D decided to watch it on Netflix streaming, and I was cracking up. They need to make fun movies like this, where gods appear with harp music playing, and giant statues come to life and chase people down for stealing their gold. It was nice to take a break from the wedding planning last night and just watch a silly movie.

I’m amazed at how much stuff there is to do before getting married. I knew I had to reserve the venue, get the cake, photographer, stuff like that. I didn’t realize it would be a good idea to get wedding insurance quotes in addition to all the other stuff. But I will feel better if I have some insurance, since who knows what could happen, and this wedding crap is a bit cha-ching!

Back to the movie-I won’t say I was riveted, but it was fun to watch. A good ol’ classic, with Greek Mythology and men running around in skirts and no shirts. A definite B movie in my book, for a little weeknight entertainment.

Marley & Me-DVD Review

LIFE DOGSTORYI read this book about 4 or 5 years ago, and I didn’t think the movie would do it justice. I figured it would be loosely based on the book, but because it starred Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson it would be more slapstick than anything with real substance. I like both those actors, so I figured why not Netflix it? I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the movie in a lot of parts very true to the book, but the actors pulled off the subtle deep moments of the film. My only complaint was that the movie was a little long, but in order to stick with the book, it had to be.

I love the plot: basically just a story about a family and their wacky dog. In parts you get mad at Marley because he’s so wild and misbehaved, but mostly you love him. Of course there are sad moments, and by the end of the movie both my boyfriend and I were in tears. It’s a great movie for dog lovers, and if you have a dog, it will make you give him an extra pat, or maybe throw his favorite ball a little more often. I know it sure made me appreciate mine, if only for the fact that when I leave the house, I know he won’t rip my couch apart like Marley! marley-and-me-review
