While cleaning the house today I tuned into an old rerun of Scrubs. In this one Dr. Kelso finally got back into treating patients. He got this snotty 20 something girl who chose to have bariatric surgery instead of changing her diet and lifestyle. I love Scrubs and I’m sad to say that in general, they just don’t make shows like this anymore. Also, like most shows, the early episodes of Scrubs was so much better than the later seasons. I loved that the show had that perfect blend of comedy and serious situations. My favorite episode has to be Overkill, where JD has the guy with the guitar following him around while he works out his problems with his coworkers and friends. The new version of Scrubs is ok, but a far cry from my original beloved show.

I’m so happy Scrubs is back for another season! Now it’s not the same ol’ Scrubs we knew and loved, but it is still hilarious. I loved the beginning where they explain why the janitor leaves. Turk is talking to him while he is mopping up the floor tiles in the hospital and the janitor asks him when JD is coming back. When Turk says never, the janitor throws down his mop and leaves. It’s pretty funny. Of course hardcore fans can find the janitor on the new ABC show, The Middle.
I loved how they showed Elliott all cute and pregnant at the beginning of the pilot. I wish she would continue to be on the show, but I know the writers are trying to ween us off of the old cast members and take us into the new version of Scrubs.
My only complaint so far is they haven’t discussed Carla at all. Even if they couldn’t get the actress to come back on the show, couldn’t Turk mention her and that she was home with their children? It just doesn’t make sense. Hopefully she’ll have a few guest spots in new episodes to come.
I love the show now, with Turk and JD still involved, but what will it turn into when they leave? I think the new characters just may be able to hold their own. It will never be as good as the original Scrubs, but it sure beats watching crappy reality tv!

Wii and Wii accessories. When the weather starts cooling down again, it’d be great to have the Wii Fit to keep in shape and have fun. I like video games where you don’t have to sit still.

30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development, and Scrubs on DVD

The Outlander Series in hardback (awesome books, can’t put them down)

All of the Harry Potter DVDS (maybe I should wait till the last two movies are out and get a boxed set)

New Mattress and bedframe (might be getting this soon)

Chaco sneakers and sandals. They are the only shoes that I can walk in, because the have arch support. Shoemakers should be required to make all shoes this way.

This episode was interesting because JD, Carla, and most of the main characters weren’t even in it. I’m not sure why they weren’t, but the episode was still great without them. It focused on Elliot and Turk and babysitting the interns. There were some classic quotes, like one intern to another arrogant one, saying, “Ohhh, you’re in love with yourself. Well I’d be careful because that guy you’re in love with is a real douche.”
Elliot and Turk get to talking at the end of the episode about whether or not they will still be doctors when they for the rest of their lives. Elliot makes a surprising admission by saying that the sad moments of her job really stick with her, and if she gets married and has kids she might just walk away from this life and never look back.
Since this is the last season, I wonder if it will end with her and JD finally getting hitched, and her getting pregnant. I think it’d be a cool way to wrap up the show, but I’d like to see her stay as a doctor. I mean, wasn’t that the whole point? Them all being doctors together, working at Sacred Heart?
It’s always interesting to see where writers will take a show during the final wrap up. I’m happy to see that these final episodes still have that same humor they did the first season. That dance scene between Elliot and Turk about the “HIVY” was hilarious. I think I need to learn that dance, she’s got the hivy, the hivy.

Is it just me or do the networks have their heads firmly shoved up their collective bums? I mean come on people! First NBC treats the long running and oh so funny Scrubs like garbage and just tosses it aside. Luckily ABC did the right thing there and snatched it up so they could finish the season with style. Sadly that was really the only smart thing ABC managed to do.
I just found out that they’ve canned both Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. Finally we had some shows back with substance, and then they got the axe. If it were up to the viewers, I know those shows would still be around, or at least allowed to finish their stories. I really wish there was a way I could get my voice heard at the networks. I hate that they just can programs without putting it to a viewer vote.
I really think as viewers we need to protest again crappy reality tv shows, where people run around like drunken idiots in vegas, hooking up with anything that moves and calling it good quality programming. I know they keep those types of trashy shows on because they’re cheap to produce. I realize that. But wouldn’t you rather have quality? Remember how shows used to run for years? A viewer could fall in love with a show and tune in weekly to their favorite characters. Now it’s like the beginning of a new relationship with any show under two years old. We’re afraid to get attached, we’re afraid to fall for these shows, because one day the big bad network could wipe them out of existence, without so much as a Dear John letter to the viewers. Bad form Networks, BAD FORM! Aren’t there enough broken hearts in this world? At least give us the chance to say goodbye before you pull the plug. Sniff.

It’s almost that time- Fall Premieres of all my favorite shows! I know, I’m such a TV sitcom junkie…but hey, I work hard, I work out, give me my tv time. Plus with every major network posting their shows online, I can watch them at my leisure, which is what I prefer to do. The boy talks too much during the shows, hehe, so I have to rewatch to see what I missed.

Here’s a list of the shows I can’t wait to watch:

1. Grey’s Anatomy: While it’s definitely gone downhill, I think the finale last season really helped pick it back up. I can’t wait to see how Mer and Der get along living together. Reminds me of my situation.

2. Scrubs: ABC is picking it up for it’s final season. This show used to be my very favorite, and it also went downhill, but I want to see how the end it. Hopefully JD and Elliot will get together for good.

3. Eli Stone: This is a cool new show about a lawyer profit. They left us with Eli in a coma after brain surgery, and he had just opened his eyes. I love cliffhangers.

4. The Office: Oh my god Jim just propose to Pam already, I’m sick of the waiting. What a little stinker. But this show never fails to make me laugh.

5. How I Met Your Mother: This show just plain rocks. I can’t wait to see what happens with Ted. I hope that this show actually has a shelf life, just because it will be so frustrating if we never get to meet the one that Ted ends up marrying. He proposed to Stella but it was after a breakup, so we’ll see if that pans out.

6. Desperate Housewives: The writers really threw us for a loop this last season by fast forwarding 5 years. I hope it’s as chock full of drama as last year.

7. Samantha Who?: Christina Applegate is just adorable. I love watching her in movies and now her new sitcom. I love the premise-Bad Sam turns good after she gets amnesia. I love how she has this childlike innocence at times. Such a cute show.

8. 30 Rock: I love Tina Fey, she is adorable and so good at playing a geek. She’s cute and funny and I hope this series stays on the air for a good long while.

9. Private Practice: It’s not as good as Grey’s, but I like their medical stories. They are always heart wrenching. And the guys on the show, FU-ineeeee. Yum.

10. Pushing Daisies: I like this show, it’s kind of fun in a weird, almost eerie kind of way. The cinematophy is beautiful as well. It’s very sad how the two main characters aren’t allowed to touch. This show might get old after awhile with that premise though, so we’ll see.
