The Office-The Delivery

I’ve taken way too long to blog about The Office’s milestone episode two weeks ago, The Delivery. I guess it’s because I was really frustrated with the entire episode. For once it wasn’t Michael being annoying and over the top, it was Pam. Pam had taken her prenatal vitamins, she’d done her research on childbirth. She was ready. No, she was actually incredibly scared and completely unreasonable. She flat out refuses to go to the hospital because she’s scared of giving birth. I can sympathize because giving birth scares the crap out of me. But be reasonable Pam! The writers have really turned Pam and Jim from this adorable and loving couple into complete jerkfaces. I said it. The beloved PJ are now turd sandwiches. Hopefully the writers get it together and make them back into the love-able couple we rooted for from day 1.

There were a few sweet moments, like this one of Pam, Jim, and their little girl. I hated the way it was revealed that they were having a girl, how Pam just blurts it out. It should have been special, but it wasn’t. Again, writers dropping the ball on great moments. Pam didn’t turn into a sweetheart after the birth either, like I was hoping she would. She was still crabby. About the only time I laughed during their story was when she accidentally nursed another baby. AWKWARD!!!

I loved Dwight and Angela’s side story about deciding to have a baby and coming up with a contract. I love how Dwight insists that they will have a boy because he put it in writing. I do hope Dwight and his monkey get back together. Angela is just too douchy without him. But the whole scene showing Dwight ripping apart the Halpert’s kitchen was over the top insane and ridiculous. I am hoping the season shapes up because right now I’m not impressed.

Olympics = Reruns

So I guess because of the Olympics we’ve got reruns going on this week. I suppose that’s OK (if the coverage of the Olympics wasn’t so damn frustrating) but I am anxious for a couple of story lines to develop.
1. The Office-Pam’s gonna have the baby! AHHHHH, so exciting. I wonder what’s going to happen there. Are they going to take her off the show for a little while, or are we going to see her and Jim develop as new parents? I miss her and Jim being cute together. I feel like they haven’t been so much lately.

2. Flash Forward-are they ever going to have new episodes? Or was that just the teaser? Grrr.

3. Grey’s Anatomy-apparently I don’t have to wait long. There is a new episode tonight, and they do a flashback of some of the doctor’s at the beginnings of their career. Hmm…I have very mixed feelings on this. I’ve been rewatching all the first few seasons, and it was just so much better then. I miss Old Grey’s.

But still, watching a new Grey’s will be better than tuning into the Olympics and having to sift through http://www.dietpillcomparison.net ads and waiting for the show to come on. Seriously, why are there commercials every five minutes??

The Office Season Six Premiere-Gossip

jim-and-pam

Last night The Office season premiere did not disappoint. It started out with laughs, and continued throughout the show. As always, when it was over, D said, “That was it? it’s only half an hour?”

This episode, Gossip, centers around office gossip, and Michael feeling left out of the loop. He’s as childish as ever when he decides to spread rumors all over the office in an effort to cover up for a big truth he accidentally spilled regarding Stanley cheating on his wife. He makes up a rumor that Kelly has an eating disorder, and this snowballs into the receptionist thinking she puts weight loss supplements in her lunches. Michael tells everyone that Andy is gay, and no one believes it except for Andy himself. That storyline promises to come up again, though I’m not sure how far the writers will take it. That rumor gave out one of my favorite quotes of the episode when Andy goes to Jim for advice.

Andy: “I mean, I’m not gay. But I am…confused.”
Jim: “Easy. Sleep with a woman. Sleep with a man. Then compare.”

Michael also spreads a rumor around that Pam is pregnant, not knowing that this is in fact absolutely true. They were trying to keep it a secret from everyone for a little while, and Michael accidentally spills the beans. Another great quote came from Angela.

Angela to Pam: “You know a baby conceived before wedlock is still a bastard.”
Pam: “What?”
Angela: “You want me to repeat it?”

When Michael comes clean about spreading all the rumors, he tells everyone that he did it to cover up the one truth, that Stanley is having an affair. Jim jumps in and says, “No actually Pam is pregnant” deciding to tell the truth, and save Stanley in the process.
Of course Michael being the infant that he is, doesn’t catch on, and keeps hammering it away that no, in fact Stanley did cheat. Earlier in the day, he’d even called Stanley’s wife to see if she was out of town. When she calls him back, he accidentally calls her by Stanley’s mistress’s name, and basically ruins Stan’s life.

I found it hard to believe that Stanley was a cheater. He just didn’t seem like the cheating kind. As for Pam and Jim, I’m excited for the pregnancy, but I found it hard to believe she was four months along. She’s not showing at all, but I would think a small bump would be there by now. Plus, don’t people usually announce their pregnancies before 4 months? What do you guys think? Did you catch the episode?

Fall 2009 TV Season-Hurry Up!

I can’t wait for the new season of my favorite shows. It feels like it’s taking forever! Don’t get me wrong, I love my summers. But why does the programming have to be so terrible? On the weeknights after a long day of work, I like to come home and unwind for an hour or two with a little TV. Sadly in the summertime, it’s nothing but reruns or bad reality shows, like Tool Academy. Do these idiots really need their own television show??
So here’s a list of all the shows I can’t wait to see, as well as some new ones that look interesting.

  • How I Met Your Mother
  • The Office
  • 30 Rock
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Better off  Ted (if those jerks at ABC renew it!)
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • Brothers & Sisters
  • Desperate Housewives
  • Private Practice
  • Mad Men
  • Family Guy

And for the new shows out, these look like they have potential:

  • Cougar Town
  • cougar-town-new1

  • Community

community_new1

  • Parenthood
  • parenthood

  • Accidentally on Purpose
  • accidentally-on-purpose04

New shows are always hard to like, because networks are so quick to cancel them. So hopefully if any of these new shows are good, the networks will recognize that, and stop playing back to back episodes of So You Think You Can Dance.  Also, thank you to all the networks for putting TV Shows online. If they didn’t, there’s no way I’d be able to keep up with all these shows.

Two Weeks-The Office Recap

Michael has done the unthinkable, he quit Dunder Mifflin after 15 years ofoff_5021_01 dedicated (albeit sometimes crazy) service. During his last two weeks, he decides to completely goof off. He drinks scotch at his desk, he wanders around the office aimlessly and he gets no work done. He acts as if being unemployed will be full of hanging out on pool floats, sipping margaritas and having a great time. His fellow coworkers try helping him out, and encourage him to go look for work.
He then gets one of his classic crazy ideas and decides he’s going to start his own paper company. He tries getting everyone to join him, but no one does, not even Dwight. Finally, the new VP of Scranton, Charles, finds a letterhead that Michael has changed from Dunder Mifflin to say Michael Scott Paper Co. (which he made with scotch tape because he couldn’t figure out how to do it on the computer) and has Michael kicked off the premises.
Michael sneaks his way back into the office, and tries again to get someone to go with him. In a rare act of spontaneity, Pam gets up and runs after Michael. She tells him in the parking lot that she is tired of being a receptionist and instead wants to be a saleswoman, while Jim stands next to her in complete shock.

I have to commend the writers for really throwing a curveball to the audience on this Michael story. I think even though Michael has made mistakes in the past, he’s a good worker, and he was dedicated to Dunder Mifflin. He deserved better, so in a way I can see why he quit. Still, the show is nothing without Michael. I’m guessing something is going to happen with the new boss Charles and they’re going to be begging for Michael to come back.

Blood Drive-The Office Recap

Last night’s episode was probably the most random of the season, right from the opener. Michael is just so gullible, you can distract him with shiney objects, or in this case, by Pam and Jim just shouting, “AYYYYEEE” and holding up their thumbs.

I thought it was sweet that we got to hear a little more about Kevin’s story angelawith his ex fiancee in this show, when him and Michael hold a “Lonely Hearts” party at the office. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for most of the people there, except Angela. She’s such a shrew! She tells the room about how she had two men fight for her in a duel, and it wasn’t Dwight or Andy. The idea that four men would fight over her is just mind boggling.

Dwight was awesome as always with his one liners and creepy looks. When he talks about how he taught himself how to retract his own veins, and how he can retract his penis up into his body,  I about fell on the floor laughing.

Pam and Jim have a great Valentine’s lunch with Phyllis and Bob Vance (Vance Refridgeration) until P & B disappear into the restroom and don’t come back for a really long time. P& J (Heheh) get up to go investigate, which they quickly regret when they hear sexual moans coming from the handicap bathroom stall. That’s the point where Pam, Jim lost their appetites (yeah, me too).

While Michael didn’t get the girl in this episode, he did show that he’s getting out there and at least trying. Hopefully something will come from that, instead of him moping after Holly. I also can’t wait to hear stories from Andy on what all he did on his honeymoon vacation he took alone. Gotta love scuba3Andy for making the most out of that debauchal!

The Office Has Disappointed Me

I’m horrified by the lastest episode of The Office. *

*Spoiler*

Last night’s episode started off with funny Halloween costumes, but they quickly skipped forward to the next day. I was kind of confused by the flow of the show-I felt like they should have shown more Halloween fun. Still, it was funny to see Dwight, Creed, and Kevin all dressed up as the Joker. Creed’s costume was intense! He looked so much like the real deal.

So skipping to the part where I’m completely disappointed by The Office storyline and its writers. Michael finally has a great girl-Holly, and they barely get a chance to be together and they write her off. I knew that was bound to happen, because that is what every sitcom does. They let you fall for a sweet couple and they break them up. Why writers, why do you do this to us? Like there isn’t enough sadness in this world? I loved how Holly would dork out with Michael, it brought so much to the show. So now are we going to have Jan back? Plus Holly moving to her old job just like that? Does she love Dundar Mifflin so much? Maybe there will be an opportunity for her to come back on the show. I really hope so-it’s about time Michael was able to settle down.

It was good to see Pam and Jim together-I can’t wait for her to come back to the Scranton branch. Or maybe for her to get a real job that she loves-but just the opportunity for her and Jim to have more camera time together. They’re the heart of the show in my opinion, and it sucks that she’s gone. I am hoping that the next episode is happier, because this one was pretty much a big downer in my book.

A Look at Some of My Favorite TV Characters

Here’s just a few of my favorite TV Characters from the shows I watch weekly:

From The Office-

Jim and Pam:

Jim Halpert: Last night on “Trading Spouses,” there’s… did you see it?
Pam Beesley: No, I have a life.
Jim Halpert: Interesting, what’s that like?
Pam Beesley: You should try it some time.
Jim Halpert: Wow. But then who would watch my TV?

I love that Pam and Jim have this really relaxed, playful relationship. They can tease each other, and they can be themselves. They’re just fun, and they seem like a genuine couple. I hope the writers keep them together.

Angela:

Sometimes the clothes at the Gap Kids are just too flashy so I’m forced to go to American Girl and order clothes for large Colonial dolls.

She’s kind of creepy the way she loves dollhouses, cats, and all things litte girl. Yet she has this evil streak and does things like hook up with Dwight even though she’s dating Andy. It’s crazy, but you gotta love her for all her bitchiness.

From How I Met Your Mother-

Ted:

Look, this woman could actually be my future wife. I want our first kiss to be amazing.

I love him for his hopeless romantic ways. I love him for his idealism, and how great he is as a friend.

Barney:

Look, our forefathers died for the “pursuit of happiness,” okay? Not for the “sit around and wait of happiness.” Now if you want, we can go to the same bar, drink the same beer, talk to the same people every day or you can lick the Liberty Bell. You can grab life by the crack and lick the crap out of it.

For all his devious ways, and his player behavior, deep down he’s a great guy. When he brought Lily back to NY from San Francisco it showed his true character.

Marshall & Lily:

Lily: We should come up with a whole new last name.
Marshall: Oh, that’s easy; Lily and Marshall Skywalker.
Lily: Lily and Marshall Hasselhoff.
Marshall: Oh, got it. Lily and Marshall Awesome. Have you met our children, our son Totally and our daughter Freaking?

Oh this couple, sigh. I like to think that the boy and I are a lot like Marshall and Lily-we’re a little bit mushy. Ok, we’re a LOT mushy just like them, and we’re comfortable yet we are still crazy for each other. That’s Marshmallow and Lilypad. Love em!

Samantha Who?-

Samantha:

Stupid old me! The old me really screw the new me over, didn’t she? How am I suppose to start fresh? when my past keeps reaching into my future and pulling me into my present!

I love good Sam, but I can’t stand bad Sam. It’s cute to watch her cringe at how she used to be. I confess, I’ve had me some “Bad Bdubs” moments and I shudder at them as well.

Dena:

Samantha: My heart is still beating like crazy. You gotta feel this. (takes Dena’s hand and places it on her chest)
Dena: Yeah, I’m kind of creeped out by the fact that there’s something in our chests that’s pumping blood. I do not like that.

She’s Samantha’s sweet, dorky yet loveable friend from high school. She’s fun because she’s so naive at times. I adore her!

From 30 Rock:

Liz:

Liz: I hate going up to Donaghy’s office even for something normal. I always feel like I’m entering the Death Star. I swear if Donaghy does this [does Darth Vader force-strangle] at me, I’ll run.
Pete: You’ll be fine, Captain Needa.
Liz: No, Captain Needa dies, he dies!

She’s a quirky, independent single chick. I love that she’s got a successful job, and that she is still a big ol’ dork at heart. I see a lot of myself in Ms. Liz Lemon

Weekly TV Show Recap 10.24

Weekly TV Show Recap-I’m only going to post about How I Met Your Mother and The Office this time, because I feel that those two episodes were by far the best.

Alright, spoiler time:

The Office- I was so excited that Michael finally got the girl. They make an adorable couple. The only problem now is corporate and the threat of one or both of them getting fired. I don’t like where the storyline is going with Pam and Jim, with the writers hinting to us that they are unstable. Aren’t they only apart for 3 months? That’s nothing! I will be so mad if they make it so that they break up. Seriously guys, learn from the Ross and Rachel mistake. It was a dumb one, and the show went in the crapper after they split up. Do the loyal fans right and keep them together!

How I Met Your Mother-Now I called it long before that Stella wasn’t going to end up with Ted, but they way they showed it in the latest episode, I would never have guessed it. Stella leaves Ted for her ex boyfriend and the father of her daughter. WOW! And Robin drops the bomb that she still has feelings for Ted! Well I don’t want those two to get back together, but Robin had some great points. Nothing about Stella and Ted’s relationship was about the real Ted. The real Ted is a hopeless romantic, and here he was just basically taking an already planned wedding? That’s not our Ted. When he meets the love of his life, we’ll know it. It’ll be great-and I can’t wait for it to happen!

Weekly TV Recaps 10.17.08

Here is my week of spoilers and recaps of my favorite TV shows. Enjoy!

How I Met Your Mother-This one was definitely the best show of the week. Ted dropped a bomb at the end of the episode, foreshadowing the end of his relationship. I knew he wouldn’t end up with Stella-despite how sweet she was, that wasn’t the way he was going to meet the mother of his children. They had too many differences, and she just wasn’t the one. I loved that the crew kept having interventions, and I thought it was a good way of opening Ted’s eyes to his situation with Stella.

Samantha Who-She’s back! I like this show because it’s cute and quirky. However, the premiere episode, with the storyline of Sam and her mom entering a dancing contest was…lame. Still, it was funny and Samantha was cute as always. She dances as bad as I do!

Grey’s Anatomy-This week Erica and Callie went on their first date. I can already tell that Erica is way more into Callie than Callie is to her. I’m wondering if they’ll have some big catfight in a coming up episode. There wasn’t nearly as much drama or chaos in this episode, and it ended on a fairly good note-with Meredith reading her mother’s diary with Christina. My biggest problem with that is I wish she could have trusted Derek to read it with her. Why does she always lean so hard on Christina? Sometimes it’s ok to lean on your boyfriend too Mer. Come on!

Brothers & Sisters-I just plain love the family squabbles in this show. Every week it’s something new. It’s fun to watch because they’re a real family. I like the Justin and Rebecca twist but I’m tired of Justin always going back to drinking. New storyline please! As for the Ryan thing, I hope they do tell him who he is. I want to see them contact their long lost brother. Oh, and I can’t wait to see Kitty get a kid-she’s going to be such an awkward mother!

Eli Stone-The season finale left a major cliffhanger for Eli. He had surgery on his brain tumor and he was in a coma. At the end, he opens his eyes, but we don’t know what happened. I know he’ll be ok of course because he’s the star of the show. But will his premonitions be gone? Will he still be a prophet? This had me anxious for the premiere. So the suspense paid off! This was a fantastic episode! I couldn’t believe it when Nate started getting visions too. Then when Eli realized his therapist was a vision too-wow, things couldn’t get any weirder. I love the heart that Eli shows in this show, but I am so anti-Taylor. That girl is evil and so ignorant. He has successfully predicted so many things, yet she still refuses to believe him. She finally does at the end of the episode but I still don’t like her. And Eli gets his aneurism back, so his brother doesn’t have to suffer. He shows the ultimate sacrifice here, and I think this shows the strongest character development. I love this show!!

The Office-Michael finally did it! He grew a pair! Good job buddy! I was so proud of him for asking Holly out. I really wish he’d just tell Jan off. She’s such a freeloader! I am shocked that he’s helping support this baby that he has no relation to. I can’t wait for Pam to come back-the relationship she has with Jim is so great. I love the way they connect, and at the end of last night’s episode they really showed how the two are just meant for each other.

Desperate Housewives-I was horrified when Bree tried to parent Danielle’s son. I can’t say I’m surprised but man! I am so glad my mother isn’t like her. I’d be so pissed if someone tried to change the way I was raising my kid. Gabby needs to get her act together, this poor me thing is crap. Just because you don’t have money doesn’t mean you have to be dumpy. Hey Gabby? I’m broke but I don’t look like I just woke up. Get it together! And her fat little daughter is such a brat. I was so proud of Susan for knocking her down.
